stuff

so, uni has been busy. classes to attend, meetings to go to, ball ticketsto sell etc.
thursdays always finishlate because sinfonia goes till 6.30. there i am,playing first violin, hanging onfordear life in Tchaikovsky's Symphony #4 andDvorak'sSymphony #6. Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and Petruska tocome...argh!

been up to myeyes in work,butyou getthtat.
i think i'm slowlycoping, clearly, bythe time ihave toblog, and watch things off thenetwork..!
i'mpermanently stressing myself outover thisand that, but then i get to it,andrealise that i've done itquite quickly!(take today, for example..!)

i'm finallygoing tohave apiano lesson!it'sscheduled for next week,andi'm excited thatihopefullywillhave directionthen!

i wenttoconnect lastnight..itwas really good. unfortunately, ithinkwhitleyhadsomething on, sothere weren't thatmanyof them there (all of themwould seriously take uptheentire livingroom atthe vic!). we had a good seminar-forum-ything, enjoyed pizza, the hospitalityof thethreegirls, andthe night ended in 150 green shrek-inspired pingpong balls being strewn overthe room in war-like fire, largely aimed at sam,tim and other randoms. much fun-ness.

i have managed to getsome notesout onthe horn.ikinda could playacoupleofverysimple tunes today, utilising five notes of thescale. i can play a grand totalof aboutan octavebut am having some trouble getting outthe higher end of the notes. i'm working on it. consideringi'veonlyhad one lesson, don'tplay windorbrass already, ithink i'mgoing quite well! (heck, i don'teven knowifi'm doingit right!)

clearly myspacebar isn't ALL that functioning,butitis gettingthere, ithink.i thinkif ipress itina certain spot, withtheright amountofforce, itworks.

so, theplanfor thisweekend is really about study andpracticeandsleep. i've been quite tiredrecently.this week,ididn't do the early morning thing (like last week..! like getting up at 7am?! that's dedicated..!) there's choir tomorrow and stuff, butireally feel liketheweekends areWAYYY too short....thisisa great pity!

and ithink i'm goingto be forming a chamber ensemble withem andjacquie:piano,violinand clarinet. i hope there's music forthis trio! i'm also lookingfora cellist....thereare afewin myyear,ishould starthunting around!
