urinetown

and just like that, Urinetown is over.
but wow, was that an amazing week of all sorts! amazingly tiring, amazingly busy, amazingly stressful, and amazingly wonderful - all at the same time.
we bumped into the theatre just as we were about to completely outgrow the JCR, so that was good timing.
tech run was very stop-start-ish, but i guess that's what tech runs are like. including a 1-about 9pm (with a half hour break for dinner) on the tuesday. luckily i only have one class on tuesday (at 9am)
wednesday night was our dress rehearsal. i cancelled my music lesson coz i felt bad that i hadn't really done that much practice during the week. the dress went fairly well, although there were some hitches (as expected, when you do your first full run-through with everything).

i was so nervous on thursday. i had a class starting at 9am, then rehearsals/tutes going through till 1pm, upon which i had to sell ball tickets. and then i had a sound check at the theatre at 4.30pm, got home at 5pm and then had to be at the theatre at 6pm. i was so disappointed i didn't get time to nap. and surprised that i didn't just fall asleep in the show! the first show went pretty darn well. there were a few hitches at the beginning, but we managed to recover easily and slid back into the scheme of things. just before the show started, i physically felt so sick because i was so nervous! luckily, i felt more confident as the show went on, so i managed to push through it all!

the rest of the shows went fantastically. it was so wonderful to see so many people i knew come along with each successive show. the prize for the most enthusiastic probably goes to my brother though, because he flew in early on saturday morning and back out on sunday morning (yes, to and from PERTH) to see saturday night's show! pretty amazing! everybody i've told has been very impressed!

thank you to all who came and saw the show, and thank you for your support. i hope you enjoyed the show and that it lived up to all we were claiming it to be. xo

Congratulations on a job well done, Gladys! So, you can add "budding conductor" to your already extensive repertoire. ;)
It was fun hanging out with you today. We should do it more often!
